Five Tips to Choosing the Best Backpackers Hostel

Choosing the best backpackers hostel will take a little research, and you are better off doing this before you leave home. Booking at least the first hostel in advance will ensure that you have somewhere to stay, particularly when you first arrive in the country. It would be awful to arrive in a new country, feeling jet lagged and tired, and then have to hunt around for a hostel. Sydney hostels offer great accommodation, and there are many located in the heart of the city. Once you have arrived you can start to think about where you will be next and look into hostels at your next destination.

Research

Before you commit to staying in a particular hostel do a bit of research beforehand. Many hostels have their own websites with all the information about their facilities and the cost of staying per night. Find out whether there are single rooms available or if there is only dormitory style sleeping arrangements. Some backpacker hostels separate men and women, depending on the country, and this can be a problem if travelling with your partner. You might be on holidays with your family, so look for a more family friendly hostel, preferably one not located on top of a nightclub, for example.

Recommendations

As well as consulting your guidebook and having a look at a hostels website you will also find that social networking sites are often good places to find people’s opinions on where are the best places to stay. Also ask around. Your fellow travellers will have all the insights as to where are the best places if they have stayed there themselves.

View the room

It can be a good idea to view the room before you sign up to stay, particularly in a foreign country where language might be a bit of a barrier and you are not sure exactly what it is you are getting for you money. Independently owned hostels can be a bit of a hit and miss experience and many countries overseas have different standards then we do here in Australia.

Searching

If you are travelling in a group it can be a good idea when you hit a new town to split up and each go and check out a different hostel. This will save you time and give you insight into places that you might not have considered. Meet back and discuss your options. You might want somewhere that you can all share a room, that has a bathroom to cater for just your group and has its own kitchen facilities.

Wherever you are going to travel, you should bring flameless lighter in anticipation of an emergency, besides that lighter is also very necessary under any circumstances. Given its simple but elegant and easy to carry shape, it is a futuristic lighter without gas.

Follow the crowd

A good indication that a hostel is good is whether there are a lot of people staying there. Having said this you might find that …

Nursing and Business

I have long had an interest in nursing, and health care management. As a young child, my favorite toy was a doctor’s kit, and I practiced my bedside manner on dolls and stuffed toys. I wanted to care for people, and to help them heal. Then, as an older child, I worked as an intern in my uncle’s ophthalmology practice, as a way to get hands on experience working with people and putting them at ease. This reinforced my passion, and reaffirmed for me that in the future I would put all of my efforts into pursuing a medical career.

However, the older I got, I also realized that I have a mind for business. My father is an entrepreneur, and so I have some experience with book keeping and business management, and I am very confident in that area. As a result, I am very interested in healthcare management, and helping patients by helping ensure that their medical services are well organized, and their needs met.

This is why I feel that Penn’s coordinated dual-degree program in business and nursing would help me meet my long terms goals. They would ensure that I have the ability to support, not only my patient’s medical needs, but also the needs of the business, to ensure both the practice of medicine, and the front office, run smoothly.

I believe that a patient can expereince as much, or more stress because a doctor’s office, or medical practice is not well organized as they can from not receiving proper medical care. Further, I think that nurses who are competent both in care related skills, and administrative skills are an important asset in medical practice. Thus, I want to hone my skills, to be as relevant, efficient, and caring as possible in the workplace, by completing the dual degree program.

I look forward to using the skills gained through the dual-degree program to become a leader in the healthcare field, within the offices where I work, and to use this to pursue my personal best professionally. My specific goals are to work in the hospital setting, in a position that would allow me to work directly with patient care, or to work in the clinical setting with a small practice, where I could have a large amount of patient contact, and work directly with the doctors, but where my managerial skills would also be well put to work.

In conclusion, I would like to say that the Penn State’s degree program stands apart from other similar educational opportunities because of the way that it blends clinical and business studies. I have no doubt that this program will uniquely position me for success in the next stage of my life as a business professional. I look forward to the opportunity to learn from the high-quality staff, within the nursing department, and allowing them to shape me as a caregiver, and medical professional. This program can help me to realize my dreams of becoming a medical professional, …
